The band DUAN came into being in 2005 and it plays traditional Irish music. It consists of experienced musicians, who constantly master their skills by participating in projects, workshops and various musical events, also in Ireland. DUAN, paying homage to the idea of playing Irish music as close to its traditional sound as possible, is recognized as one of the best bands of the type in Poland. The instruments played in the band are characteristic for traditional Irish music and they include: Irish flute, tin whistle, bodhrán (Irish drum), fiddle, guitar, accordion. The band also has singers, which accounts for the fact that the repertoire of DUAN consists of not only pulsating tunes, full of natural energy, but also jaunty pub songs and lyrical ballads. In 2007 the band created pieces for the production of the game “The Witcher”, released on an album promoting the game. It has cooperated with numerous groups of Irish dance in Poland.

Duan’s offer includes a combined dance and music show with the Warsaw-based Irish dance group “Treblers”, whose dancers are medallists of international dance competitions. They have won the titles of European Champions and the promotion to the World Championships numerous times.

The repertoire comprises all types of Irish dancing (solo dance, Irish step dance – so exuberant and so much appreciated by the audience, ceili dances and figure dances – complex choreographies) of diversified nature, from sentimental to very dynamic ones.

The programme can be adjusted to the specific conditions of the show, from intimate performances through outdoor events to great stage shows, where spatial choreographies can be presented in the fullest way. The dancers can enrich their performance with teaching sessions for the audience, devoted to simple dances, encouraging everybody to have even more fun.

This project is a true feast for your ears and your eyes – real traditional Irish music played by Duan and professional dancing of beautiful girls in lovely costumes.

Duan has prepared a combined dance and music show with Maria Nowak, one of Poland’s most titled dancers engaged in Irish dancing – her achievements include most of all the title of the European Champion, won in Stuttgart in 2010.

The audience appreciate Maria most of all for her professionalism. She is praised for her energy and joy she spreads around during her shows. Maria is also a teacher of Irish dancing with long experience. She is very willing to conduct teaching sessions during her shows – it is a proven and appreciated way to have great fun together with the audience and to integrate with it. Maria will present an extraordinary medley of Irish dances – these will be both airy and delicate slip jigs and energetic step choreographies, perfectly harmonious with the music played by Duan.
